I confirm that. The pages are loading much slower if compared to Doom9 for example.
The "dial-up people" would better be back here next week only.

P.S.: The current "smilies" are too terrible as well.

It would be nice if user post count was displayed w/o needing to hover, and when hovering on topic titles, the text disapears too quickly & last post hovering doesn't appear to be working on main page where it shows latest topics. Is the "view latest topics" link hiding or gone for good from forum index? ie. I used to be able to go back 10 days like this: https://forum.videohelp.com/viewforumlatest.php?topicdays=10&start=0 , but doesn't seem to be working properly. Appreciate the effort to "upgrade" but I am looking for something to like about this new "vBulletin!" forum, any ideas? Computer details display is poor as well.

vB needs more RAM and CPU, so hopefully the server has some slack to grow into. Probably even separate mySQL, maybe separate memcache server.

Is Admin a new mod account?

Forum looks good so far. Just need a bit of time to adjust.
There's not much to do but then I can't do much anyway.

I've noticed some people (myself included) that don't even have a status. I guess I just don't rank.

  9. The site should be much faster now. Found a huge bug in my apache rewriterules...or maybe not entirely fixed yet.

  10. When searching on my name (Search->Advanced Search->User Name) to check if anything needs replying, I find nothing more recent than February 2005. When I click on my name to the left of a post of mine (like above and to the left of this post, manono->View Forum Posts), I find a bunch of posts that I guess are mine, but must be very old and they don't have any dates attached to them. Am I doing something wrong? Is the database of old threads still being transferred over? Is it all lost?

Edit: Reading on page one, I see that orsetto has already mentioned this. Just gotta wait then.

The "Report This Thread" posts show up on the front page.

It also seems that the spam-bots are getting in a little easier.

Attempts to report spam are timing out here, so I don't know if my attempts are even getting through. Still seeing speed issues form time time, but I expect this will settle soon

spam reports seem to be working guns - in fact showing up for the whole world to see.... they have no private mod forum set up yet.

i'd agree the forum seems a bit pokey.

I can see my reports turning up on the front page, but the actual report page times out before coming back to me to tell me it's finished. Oh well. So long as they are getting through. Disappointing to see spammers getting through so readily in the new digs.

    Thanks, B !

Quite a few things need tweaking to get back to the way things were, but I'm sure you're coding day and night to fix.

I'll check back in a couple of days ...
    If in doubt, Google it.

When using "Quote" to reply to a post, it OMITS any quotes in the message you are replying to.

That can make it really hard to make sense of things, all context is lost.
If possible, please let quotes be quoted.

Also, the default "Reply" is "Quick reply".
Can this be changed, or made a preference, I prefer to have a normal, or what is now "Advanced" reply, as default.

I miss the "View my posts" link on the forum front page.
Now I have to go into advanced search and search for posts with my username.

I guess I will get used to the new format but I think I liked the old one better...

Chipping away at the problems - great to watch it evolve like this. Post reporting now seems to be working for me. After submitting a report I get the screen back instead of a timeout. Scratch another one off the list.

    Fixed:
    • You can change to a custom title now, under View My->Edit profile or Settings and then Edit profile.
    • The site should be faster now. The server load is at least normal.
    • No more user reports on front page.
    • Fix Reply to Thread-button to default as advanced.

    Todo:

    • Improve View my posts, from under View my->View all my posts. It doesn't show date and not the complete post.
    • Better onmouseover preview for topics and the computer details.
    • Fix some moderation stuff, ban and clean spammers does not work.
    • Finish search indexing.

don't know if this is meant to be like this.

very annoying as by the time you move your mouse over to the links, the menu disappears again.
i dont see why we need to access sub-menus to get the new posts anyway. its the most used feature on any forum imho.

Nope, it shouldn't look like that. What browser are you using? I have so far just tested in firefox and ie8.

And I could add new posts next to todays posts at top left.

I definatelly need to use this! As a person that don't really like changes, it is a shock! (and I had the chance once to test it as beta, imagine!)
BTW, where is the "View my posts"? It was an easy way to follow my discussions seperatelly other reading! That "View all my posts" is a chaosssssss!

And yep, forum currently is slow at the time being.

    (testing edit fuction too)

For the time being I'm using Firefox under Linux, and yep,
the context menus for the hyperlinks take ages to appear,
as if I were using Internet Explorer 8.
