sorry Baldrick, forgot to say im using FireFox 2.0.0.20. (last FF version before FF3)

If you click on the Notification in the top bar does it also popup like that?

the "search" and "view my" menus are at the same spot, but the "notifications" is even more to the left. it starts under the "o" of New Posts.

The forum user search is USELESS. Hopefully will vbulletin fix it in next version...or else must I find some mod for it.

And check your current subscribed threads under view my and you can select the threads you want to change to instant email.

I would have used if the first upgrade to phbb3 didn't fail some years ago. But I'm open for going to back phpbb(4!?!) in the future though.

Yep, my new antispam-plugins seems to work super!



You should now have super mega power moderator status. But be carefully with the new powers...I'm not even sure how to use them correctly yet. But I guess we can takes this in the moderator forum instead.

hehe - in addition to china just ban all of the former ussr, all the 'stans, taiwan, all of africa, most of south america, all of southeast asia, and there must be some more i've forgotten. oh yeah, most of the spammers use gmail so ban anyone using that too....

The WYSIWYG editor alone is a good reason to update from phpbb2 to vB4.
There are also a lot more plugins, more mods, and more support from vB.
phpBB is a spam magnet, and it has a lot of security holes.

Sheesh, the iPad isn't even available to the public, yet, and the spammers already have a Flash > iPad converter? Figures.

I had some small problems of my own accessing the forum from Firefox 2 (on my Linux system, which is ten year-old hardware, so I wasn't sure it would run FF3 well enough. All my other systems already run FF3.5). Trying to login or get to the latest-posts pages would throw a vB search error (actually, it's still doing that to me on login - is that normal?) and the links in the top left corner ("Index," etc.) were unclickable.

Went ahead and upgraded FF2 to FF3, and now it all seems to be working (except for the possible login behavior).

I just have to get used to working with a vB forum, again.

Sometimes I type in my name on the Search (advanced) to see if there have been any responses to my postings. Now, I can't make any sense when I look at the search results. Please return the forum back to the way it used to be.
