Can anybody tell if these discs are genuine Taiyo Yuden or fake?
If it's genuine, I imagine that they are "Value-line" discs (B-grade), but I never heard of "Tru Blu" from Taiyo Yuden & wondered...

I would not call Value Line media "B grade". A TY Value disc is better than most anybody else's so-called "A grade" disc. TY has extra sensitive grading criteria, so the TY VL discs aren't so kind of leftover trash, as forum myths would have you believe.
Given that, I would not be surprised if TY has renamed the grade, because of ignorance and stupidity surrounding it. Even then, it's all changing to JVC right now.Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)

It looks like their value line packaging. I have used Value line for a long time and have no problems at all.

I don't know why a whole new thread was started to answer this question (when the person could have just responded in this thread), but lookie here:

I didn’t meant “B-grade” as quality reference of the discs in general, like CMC or recent Verbatim’s Value-line discs. I referred it as possible negligible cosmetic imperfection of Value-line Taiyo Yuden discs, which has nothing to do with their burning quality. (I believe Value-line Taiyo Yuden discs are still superior to most other discs). But yes, I shouldn’t have used the term “B-grade” anyway…

From the look of 3rd link (NCIX), it looks like Value-line Taiyo Yuden, but I also found the statement underneath the picture, saying… “Actual product may not be exactly as shown.” So, I just wondered…
Sorry if I made some confusions... Let me clarify my question… it sound like they are selling it as Taiyo Yuden Value-lines, but I never heard of its attribution, “Tru Blu.” Does any one have any idea about “Tru Blu” reference? -

One of the links above was showing the "old" packaging. (It was the only photo posted on any of the pages listed.) I remember because I looked at the page and thought, "hmm, that company is still showing the old picture. Maybe people haven't been hitting the new stock yet. I should mention this."
(And no disrespect was meant to the companies linked above. We haven't switched all our photos over yet, either. ) -
