I'm currently doing audio editing using my Alienware setup that I originally bought for gaming purposes. I'm running a P3 733 on an Asus P3C2000. Now I'm venturing into the video editing side and am thinking of building my own media workstation sort of system, especially after installing a DV500 into the Alienware and not being able to video capture without dropping half the frames (OK, that's a little bit of an exaggeration). Any recommendations on motherboards, video cards, and such would be appreciated.
Also, if anybody's bought a system for this purpose I'll take that advice, too. I've always used Intel based systems but am trying to keep an open mind towards AMD.
Thanks.
