    Hi,
I have some AVCHD files in 50i and I want to make them progressive so I don't get the stripes on the screen. I use the Canon hf s10 in 50i. When I use the pf25(don't know if this is real progressive?) it just get's very messy when I move the camera.

When I make a new Premiere Pro project I use these sequence presets: AVCHD 1080p25.
Then I have to render before I edit. When I'm finished editing, I export it with these settings:
    MPEG2 - HDTV 1080p 25 High Quality - PAL - 1920w X 1080 h - Frame rate 25 - Field order: None(progressive)

I still get stripes in the movie when it's exported. I have also tried other frame rates and field orders, but with no luck so far.

sounds like a lot of extra work and bad results. make the project properties match the input 50i and then edit. export as before if it's for playing on a computer. you may see some blurring/blending of fast movement sequences but there shouldn't be any interlace lines.

change the output to interlaced if it's for playing on a tv.

Well, maybe it sounds like a lot of extra work, but is there any settings that will do it for me as I described?

What if you have mixed files. Some in 25p and some in 50i? What should the settings be?

whatever best matches most of your source files. less pre-rendering that way. but, it will work either way.

but you never did say what the output is going to be watched on.

    tv or computer?

Actually both. I export it to a mpeg file and watch it on a pc. Sometimes I import the mpeg file to premiere as a DV project and sequence presets as DV-PAL standard 48kHz. If I don't do this before i use it in Adobe Encore the dvd won't play in a regular DVD player that's linked to the TV.
