    I successfully moved clips I took with a FLIP Ultra HD into my Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 9, but I find they play in a herky jerky fashion, more like a series of fast movie pics rather than a smooth video. Would upgrading to either Vegas Movie Studio Platinum Pro Pac or to Vegas Pro 9 solve the problem? Thanks, Frank

  2. Are you changing the frame rate(ie 15fps-> 29.97fps)?
    It's best to encode in the same frame rate as the source, use MediaInfo to check properties.
    What are you using to play them with and what are you playing(ie DVD, Blu-ray,etc)?

    Thank you. I did not realize that I had to change the frame rate, and don't know how. I ran a segment through Media Info and got the following: MPEG4 (Sony PSP) 30.7 MiB, 28s 266ms. This is the first attempt I've made but I plan burn what I shoot onto a DVD.

  4. Just burn a DVD because what looks jerky on your PC may look fine on your tv.
    If after playing on tv that it still looks jerky then you should try another encoder(look in Tools).

    Here's another tip: the video from your camcorder is progressive(frame based) so I would use that instead of interlaced(field based).

    Thank you for the good advice! I'll give it a try.
