I have seen this in a number of tools and want to know if it's generally doing dynamic range compression. I'm exporting audio from live music broadcasts available as video torrents or downloads, so I can play some of the songs on my iPod. I like live music... The volume varies on many of these. I'm sure there has already been considerable dynamic range compression for broadcast and I don't want to add more, but I'd like to more quickly and easily normalize the volume of the various files.
Does anyone know if the Automatic Volume Control in Mpeg Streamclip is compressing to some "normal" level, or just somehow evaluating of overall volume should be changed?
Thanks
