I have a movie in AVI format, and the subtitles in a separated file. The file movie is OK.
When I watch the movie with subtitles, the subtitles appear 1-2 minutes before in time in the scenes where they should to appear.
I named the movie file and the subtitle file with the same name, word by word, and put them in the same directory, so that is not the problem.
Can I fix that kind of problem?
    I apreciatte the help.

Yep, you must resync it. Use for example subtitle edit or subtitle workshop.

I tried to download two others subtitles from the opensubtiles.org site - subtitles in my language which is portuguese (I am Brazilian ). One in srt format, the other one in txt format. Both two have the same problem of timing with the movie. Maybe they are all the same subtitle.
But after I found out a player which has a tool to correct the problems of timing between subtitle and movie: the SMplayer. It's a free player. I donīt know another player which has that kind of tool.
In the top of player, in the menu, the item "subtitles", and so "set delay", we may set how many miliseconds we want the subtitle to go forward ou backward. The problem is we need to know how many miliseconds we have to change, and that is a bit hard-working. I am trying to regulate the timing for an hour and it is not good yet.
