VLC says this cannot be fixed. Has anyone got these videos to work with Vista 32 bit or Windows 7 Ultimate?

I had been having a major problem trying to play (and edit) my IV50-encoded video files as well. Installing the Ligos Indeo Legacy Package isn't enough on Windows 7. I have had to invoke the dll file manually via Command Prompt. Then and only then could I play my videos (albeit with the AVI Chunk Viewer popping up. I just close it, and then it plays fine) and have them worked on in TMPGEnc.

Steps are pretty meticulous. I have explained it at http://www.hubbywifey.com/2010/01/07/indeo-video-iv50-on-windows-7-fix. While our problems may be different, it's still IV50 related. Hope that helps in some way.
