  1. .mp3 > .mp2 and .mpa | HOW?

What's a good program that will convert .mp3 files to .mp2 and .mpa files?

Also, if you know of any that do batch conversions, please let me know.

I'm willing to spend a couple of bucks, but free/shareware is preferred if it's an option. I'm open to any suggestions.

    Thanks.

  3. any other options?

I tried this software but it crashes on me plus it says it wrote the files I wanted but they don't exist anywhere. Is there anything a tad bit more user friendly that doesn't rely on DOS applications?

    thank you again.

You can use a wave editor like WaveLab (v4.0 is released now, ~500US). It will open and decode .mp3 files as well. One of the best MP2 encoder is QDesign's I-media MPEG AudioPro, very easy to use. However, why spend so many bucks, if you have a freeware solution? BeSweet works perfect here. Of course you have learn how to use it. If you don't like to do that, just open the .mp3 as audio source in TMPG (hope you have a MP3 codec installed) and convert to .mp2. Well, quality sucks, but it is easy and you do not need to waste your time reading ReadMe files.

  5. Yeah, I'm also looking for a proggie that will convert wave to MP2 audio. Saw some command line stuff but don't want to get involved with DOS again!! Any good Windows apps out there? Or plugins for Cool Edit Pro?
