Can anyone recommend a good software program for capturing high-resolution still photos as jpegs from Blu-ray videos? I am looking for a program capable of producing large, high resolution photos that are suitable for publishing purposes, so screen-shot capture programs won't do the job. Thanks!

    Try Total Media Theatre.

Or install AnyDVDHD(blu-ray decrypter) and then open the video m2ts(from the blu-ray BDMV folder) directly in MPCHC, play the video and use file->save image.

Hi-Def video resolution is < what would be considered a high-res still photo lol

But I wonder, is using a still from a copywrited movie for commercial purposes w/o permission legal?

I don't know the answer to your legal question, but I was talking about saving still photos from Blu-ray disks that I already own the rights to, such as family video projects (my son is a film major in college).
