DVD Experts, can you solve this one?

I'm using SpruceUP to author and burn movies to DVD-R. the problem I am having is that I am unable to fast forward greater than 2X. The movie just skips to the next chapter. I can not reverse at all, that just takes me immediately back to chapter 1. I have authored and burned in Ulead DVD Movie Factory and the fast forward/reverse works fine. But SpruceUP is a much better program and would like to continue using that. Any ideas of what I am doing wrong? I haven't tried DVDiT or ReelDVD yet. Are these software better? If so, where can I download a full or demo version. A password is needed to download from Sonic's site. Oh, I am using the Pioneer A03 burner. Thanks guys.

i would like to know about this one also...i have the exact same problem..when i author the dvd with another program it works fine..but with this program i cant go past 2x fastforward..even with dvditpe it does the same thing i cant go past 2x fastforward speed..what could this problem be

What type of media are you using?

I use Spruce Up with Pioneer and TDK media, and my DVD-R's FF/RW @ 8x. Which is the same for production DVDs on my standalone (Apex).

Most of my movies are 5-8mbs vbr with either 192 or 224 2/0 48khz ac3. With many menus and chapter points.

It could also be an encoding issue. TMPG is known to have GOP and header problems. You can try CCE, or Ligos. I usually use one or the other.

Or maybe even player problems.

well i have used imation...pioneer..and memorex dvd-r and they all do the same thing when i use those programs..but i use uleads to author the dvd and it works fine...just when i use dvdit ....weird
