  1. friends
i have sony XR500E camcorder, i have transfered the video in HD format to my pc and vegas shows me its 5.1 channel sound in it, but when i try to render the video in MPEG2 (DVD) format it shows me only stereo mode, and i want to render it in MPEG2 format with ac3 sound format so that i can hear 5.1 channel sound.
    Please help me

you probably need to render them as separate streams. use render as dolby digital ac-3 pro type and the 5.1 for dvd template. and in your mainconcept mpeg-2 encode click custom and uncheck include audio in the audio tab.

  5. friend the thing is i am having windows 7 64 bit, i have installed vegas pro 9 64bit and dvd architect 5 but whenever i try to render it as ac3 it says "The AC-3 plug-in is currently unavailable. You can unlock this plug-in by installing and registering DVD Architect Pro" i have tried uninstalling and installed again but still not available, i think its because of 64 bit operating system. please do something else for me

Did you try both of the AC3 codecs listed in Sony Vegas? The two codecs are called something like AC3 pro and AC3 studio.

adobe premiere pro cs4 or maybe surcode soft encode if you need a 5.1 ac-3 encoder. don't know if that last one works in win7 64bit.

sorry i forgot why i had surcode. it is the required plug-in for pp cs4 to get ac3 5.1 output. you need to buy it separately.
