So since YouTube switched to using a more recent version of Flash, YouTube can't be viewed in the device's browser and FLVs downloaded from YouTube can't be played natively. That makes sense. Here's what doesn't: Downloading the source MP4 file (H.264 video/AAC audio) via YouTubeLoader.com and playing it on the device (with the Video Podcast plug-in) doesn't work either.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

Don't you need a h264 plugin for the archos? Or maybe you have it already?

And please also post the details from the mp4(mediainfo, view->text).

It looks like it should work.

Try "remux" with mp4muxer or/and my mp4box gui. Add the mp4 and make a new mp4. No video conversion but mp4 headers might be changed so it works better.

    Thanks! I'll try that.

Now if I could only figure out why the 605 won't see MP4s over UPnP that it can play locally.

This worked, by the way, in case anyone else had a similar issue and needed to fix it.

(I used the installer version of Yamb)

I have a similar problem. I have an Archos 605 Wi-Fi 160gb model and it suddenly stopped playing Youtube files. At dailymotion.com it gives me the dreaded Flash9 logo with means it wants me to have at least flash 9.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
