What is the problem .. I use K-Lite Codec Pack But VirtualDub Does not work with avi

    See the message

    VirtualDub Error
    ---------------------------
Couldn't locate decompressor for format 'xvid' (unknown)

VirtualDub requires a Video for Windows (VFW) compatible codec to decompress video. DirectShow codecs, such as those used by Windows Media Player, are not suitable.

K-Lite Codec Pack contains only DirectShow Filters for playing files via a DirectShow Player like Windows Media Player, Media Player Classic, ZoomPlayer, etc. As mentioned by VirtualDub :
    VirtualDub Error

Couldn't locate decompressor for format 'xvid' (unknown)

As you see, you need a VFW codec in order to use your avi files with VirtualDub, in that case a XviD VFW codec. This is due to the VirtualDub internal way of processing video files.
You can install the original XviD Codec pack which contains a VFW codec too at https://www.videohelp.com/tools/XviD_Codec. Or as TJohns says in ffdshow VFW menu.

Not so, it includes ffdshow, which also has VfW filters.
They just need to be configured, as TJohns said.
