I want to convert to VCDs? Don't know for sure whether to use Forced Film, 64-bit Float, PC/TV, etc. Thanks.

Here's the rule of thumb I use:
The next step is finding out what kind of movie we're dealing with. First of all select Video - Field Operation and set it to None. Then F5 to start the preview. Let it run for a bit and watch the status window.
Frame Rate = 29.970 fps: Let the preview run for a couple of minutes, then take a look at the Video Type: If it's FILM at a percentage higher or equal to 95% you can activate Forced FILM as shown below.
I then rip the audio from the VOBs using Microsoft Graph Editor.
I got this info from a guide @ the Doom9 site. http://www.doom9.org/mpg/tmpg-main.htm
Hope this helps -
Is there a reason why you let the Microsoft Graphedit do the audio ripping rather than letting DVD2AVI do it by selecting Track 1?

I do it that way do to the fact that the guide I use says that dvd2avi doesnt handle audio very well and i tend to agree. When I use Graphedit the audio sounds alot better and the volume is ALOT higher(Dont have to turn my TV up as loud)
Thats why!!!!! -
yeah... its like lame and tmpgenc.. if your an extreme audiopile you may notice the difference. i run my sound at 96 kbps so i try not to involve extra apps... i cant tell the difference even at 224 kbps. go ahead and use dvd2avi's audio decoder.
