i have bought a digi camcorder and need to know which software gives the best quality when capturing,i have a firewire card and a pretty meaty pc specs r:
athlon 1600xp
512 pc 2100 ddr ram
40gb hd
geforce 2 ti 64mb ddr
win me.
i tried with ulead studio,but when transfered to vcd i found the quality very blocky indead,especially with fast movments.i use nero to burn as i asume this is the best burning software.

During the capturing process, the quality shouldn't matter.It#s just a file transfer from your camera to the PC thus resulting in an big (4GB/20min) .avi file.Converting this file to (S-)VCD makes the difference.It depends how much footage you want on one CD.T´hus framesize and bitrate are the the things that matters.I' using ULEAD Mediastudio for conversion with good results at SVCD with bitrates between 1800 and 2200 kb/sec (40 min to 60 min on 1 CD)
