Hi everyone! I'm trying to help my brother, I'm hoping this will be a simple request.

My brother made a documentary, which is about one hour and 40 minutes. I do not know the format used, what quality or recording or the size of the total file. Currently the DVD is on two cd's, I'm needing to "reformat" to allow it to fit onto one cd.

Sorry I'm not giving much information, please tell me what I need to ask my brother. Any recommendations would be very much appreciated.

    Thanks everyone!

    Jeff.

We need more information. Format(like standard dvd-video, avi, etc), video file size.

But if it wont fit on one dvd you must shrink it, if it's standard dvd-video you can use dvd shrink to both shrink and join two dvds.

Thank you Baldrick. I will re-post later once I know format and file size.

This is a great website for support!

    Thanks again.

My brother and nephew have been working on it some. We do have a dual layer dvd burner. I have to double check the size, but it has been converted to an AVI file.
The file is saved on the computer, they've tried using Windows movie maker to re-burn the dvd. It got to 99% then failed.

The total length of the dvd is 139 minutes. I saw on another website about double layer burning they can do 240 minutes of video, but only 120 minutes of MP3 audio?

    Thanks again for the help!
