  1. I just bought a Canon Vixia HF 200.

I'd think progressive is better than interlaced. Is that true?

Which frame rate should I use? 24 or 30? 24 seems to give each frame more bits. But most display are 60 Hz, matches 30p not 24p. 120p display is quite expensive right now.

    Thanks!

  3. Canon Vixia HF 200, FXP, 17 Mbps.

The playback is intended to be on bluray. Would also want to create DVD for grandpa.

    Thanks

for most things shooting in 60i would be best. keeping it interlaced for dvd makes things easier and it's fine for blu-ray. i'd shoot 30p if you were going to put all the vids online. 24p is not really useful, too slow for normal activity.

  5. I just learned that Bluray does not support 30p directly. It's treated as 60i. I'd think it plays fine, right? Premiere does not have a template for it but it should not be hard to come up with a custom one.

My guess is that for moving subject, 60i would be smoother since the framerate is twice as high. Is it right?

    Thanks!

    Both are jerky in pan/tilt.

1080i is being converted to 30p by Youtube?
