Hi,
I've a DV AVI video, so I splitted the video (by timecode) with DVdate.
Everything is fine, the scenes are all created.
I started to edit the video, but there is frustrating problem with the transitions
I want to add a cross effect between 2 scenes, but Vegas just puts another frame in the middle of the transition
It put's a frame of the end or beggining from one of the 2 scenes
I don't understand why there is such a problem for just a transition (is it a bug or am I doing something wrong?)
I hope someone can help me out
EDIT I use Sony Vegas 9

You need to make sure the clips overlap, either on the same timeline or across two timelines, then drop the transition onto the overlap. If you use two timelines then you will have to manually set the length of the default fade, then drop the transition onto the fade area to replace it.
Read my blog here.

Just split the file where you want to put the transition by pressing the "s" button on the keyboard then insert the transition.
