You have to read a guide. Have a look at the "how to..." sections.

  5. Actually, you may have already started down the wrong path if you want to use a dvd writer to create a dvd copy of your movie, unless you ripped the whole dvd to disk first using the "backup" option. If you coppied the whole dvd to the hard drive (normally takes at least 7 Gig), then take a look at the dvd to dvd-r guides on www.doom9.net. If you didn't rip the whole dvd, but, as I suspect, like me when I started, you ripped the "main" movie chain using the "movie" option (normally runs between 4 and 5 gig), then you still have some hope. run IfoEdit, choose "Create IFOs" and point it at the VOB files for the movie. After some processing time, you should get the video_ts and vts_01_0 ifo and bup files. Now you have enough to make a playable dvd. Exit IfoEdit, re-start it, choose "open" and point it at the newly generated video_ts.ifo file. Choose "Get VTS Sectors" and click O.K. untill it stops processing, save back your ifo. Chek the result with a software player (PowerDVD does the best job), and use your favorite burner to burn the dvd.

One point to note on this procedure (hence my comments at the start), when I tried it, I noticed that either SmartRipper or IfoEdit had an anoying bug which meant that the movie chapters quite often wern't re-generated in the right place, and moreover, the movies played fine on my PC, but when playing in my player, some of the chapters would cause the time counter to be re-set (zero'd), which wasn't a big deal, except that my player paused for a split-second each time the elapsed time was re-set on a chapter boundary (much like what sometimes happens on a layet transition , making it very anoying watching). You may get more lucky that I was.
