General call - Snow White (Disney) and Laserdisc

Please, excuse me if this is not the correct forum. I thought it was better here than in the DVD Authoring forum.

I am working in a project in order to create a DVD of the spanish version (so including titles and original spanish text-scenes) completely "original" (as far as possible and it is known) of Snow White, with best quality (minimum compresion artifacts) and without all the modifications that the current Disney company has added or removed across the different DVD editions.

The english version is normally available, but foreign languages (spanish, french, etc) which were adapted/drawn at the time of Snow White production by the Disney studios, have been omitted, modified, and mixed by the current Disney studios without, imo, consideration towards the work of Disney itself and his people that worked hard in Snow White.

The last versions that respected that were the VHS and Laserdisc ones (the DVD 2001/2002 had mixed contents, not 100% "original"). My aim is to build the same version that was exhibited in cinemas (and edited in VHS and LD).

I know that some people have done similar DVD editions, but they were not the full original spanish version (for example, the opening and end titles are still in english) or the encoding quality is poor (blocks).

The problem: I have all the material except one important part. It is because of that part, that I ask here for help. I need to contact with some one that has the Laserdisc version of Snow White in spanish; I need the opening and end credits for the dvd authoring (avi). I have the VHS, but it is of poor (VHS) quality, so I think on it as a last option, if every else fails.

Of course I could go to ebay and buy a Laserdisc player and a pack of Disney laserdisc. But that could be expensive (if I have to buy a bunch of laserdisc only for one. It seems rather difficult to find only Snow White in spanish), and could mean also a long time of wait until the chance comes... Not seems really feasible for me.

For those that don't know, the original Snow White movie has an introductory sequence of a book opening with English writing in it. That sequence was replaced with various native language sequences in different countries, such as Spanish, French, Russian, and so on. This is partly what is being talked about, but I have no personal knowledge of modifications and mixes that involve material supposedly not in the original. I guess there may have been some ending material in various languages too, but I don't remember that sequence of the film very well.

The assumption that there even exists a Spanish laserdisc with the original Spanish intro is a big one. The only realistic hope I can think of is that one was released in Spain, but I don't know whether one even exists or not.

Yes, the book at the beginning, all the credits themselves (including the introductory dedication from Walt Disney to his team), and inside the movie, for example, the book of the Queen, when she is looking for a formula to disguise, as well that the formula for the apple, etc. The text near the end, where it is explained that the dwarfs built a sarcofag, etc, and the ending text "...they lived happy forever" (or similar), the "The End", etc all of that was created as said at the same time than the english counterpart, so all of them are originals.

I am completely sure that Snow White was released in LaserDisc in Spain in spanish, because I have seen it, it was launched and also the Sleeping Beauty, Lady & Tramp, Pinocchio, Dumbo, etc., and some post-Disney films too (Lion King, Aladdin, etc)

About the fact that it includes the spanish version, I can't swear because I have not played one of them personally, but other people with knowledge about these editions, have seen it and confirms it. And moreover it is the "most" logical, because its counterpart in VHS was as described, and at the time did not exist a "modified" edition in the market.

So, personally I am sure that it exists, and I am sure at 99.9% that it is the "good" version.

The modifications means that they put spanish contents with english credits, or that they re-drawn the scene in which Snow White makes a cake, and replaced the name of "Grumpy" on it, by a kind of meaningless resort (silly thing if you ask me, because the little beds still kept, thanks God, their names in english).

In other recent edition they modified (or recupered a previous modification) the title by re wording it (because of cultural/marketing differences between Spain and Latin america), etc

If only someone could help... I guess that there is some Laserdisc collector out there willing to help to preserve that...!

That would be my last chance (regarding an acceptable PQ solution).
