I have a couple of these files. They do not play on the Windows Media Player but do play on VLC. I have a Noontec TV media streamer (which I only purchased because it said it played MKV files) but there is no sound when I play on thru this.
I tried to convert the MKV file to other formats (eg mp4) and I could play these on, say, the Windoes Media Player (and the Noontech) but the video was anything but smooth.
Does anybody know of anything I can do to play the MKV file through the Noontech (or convert it without losing its original quality) ?
Amyway, for the record, there is zero support for the Noontec and I regret purchasing it

Use MediaInfo to identify the tracks in your MKV file, then MKVToolnix to demux:
MKVExtract.exe tracks inputfile.mkv 1:video.??? 2:audio.???
Then convert your audio file to a format that is compatible with your Noontec (check the documentation or pick something universally compatible). Software for the audio conversion varies; check the tools section.
Once you've converted the sound mux the original video and new sound track back into an mkv container using MKVmerge.Volunteer for https://www.computersforkids.org.uk/
