I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I'm sure many people using the VideoHelp site also read the Doom9 forums. Also, many threads here have links to threads at Doom9 for further information.

Because of technical problems, the Doom9 forum has changed its IP address to 85.230.118.136.
However (see http://www.doom9.org), it may be some time before this change is known to DNS servers , so you have to enter via the link on the main Doom9 page or use the numerical IP address instead of the name forum.doom9.org, ie connect to http://85.230.118.136.
Similarly, "forum.doom9.org" in links such as "forum.doom9.org/showthread.php? ..." must be replaced by "85.230.118.136"

Alternatively, you can temporarily add the following line to your hosts file (on XP, C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\HOSTS)
    Code:
    85.230.118.136 forum.doom9.org
This will cause the OS to bypass your DNS server and use the given IP address directly.

Thanks for the hosts thing. I knew of the IP change but have just been entering it manually. The hosts file worked great.

I see the DNS problems at Doom9 have been solved earlier than expected, so the original forum address http://forum.doom9.org is working again.

Those of you who updated your hosts file can now delete the added line (recommended since the IP address could change again in the future).

I was wondering why all my Doom9 bookmarks weren't working the other day. Seems my DNS has been updated now though. Thanks for the heads up.
