What are ASPI drivers how do I tell if I need them? I am running windows XP and I saw one post that said that XP has no ASPI layer and I see that in the Useful Software area there is a link to ASPI drivers and when I went there it lists ASPI drivers for XP.

Advanced SCSI Programing Interface = ASPI, what all CD-R's use ( IDE or SCSI ), Both Windows 2000 and Windows XP do not come with an ASPI layer installed, But Adaptec now has a version 4.7 ASPI layer ( free
)that will install with no need of any qualify Adaptec product installed allready.
a good little information on it can be found here...
