    Hallo,
i have read most of the topics, but could not find an answer to the Subject.
First i have done everything wahat was asked in the guide(s). SDHC card is okay (checked with cardreader), is quick with the info.
As soon as i have to plug the Camera to the PC with the USB and select on the camera printer/pc and push select then the shit
starts. The software programm ImageMixer 3 SE Ver.4 should start and prompt me with a window.
This does not happen. Even manually starting the programm does not give a solution. Will not open, system hangs.
Even tried to open the camera as a Harddisk through the Explorer, but that results also in hanging of Explorer.

Can someone help me, and many others, because i have noticed that there are a lot more people who has the same problem.
And not only with the Canon. I am sorry for my English (I am a dutchman)
My system should not be the problem:
    Proc dual core E8500 / Moterboard: Asus P5Q pro / Mem 4Gb / Hdd 2x 250Gb / Video Gforce 260 GTX

if the card reader can open the card just copy the files off it onto the computer. looks like a SD mpeg-2 cam. the best editor would probably be womble mpeg video wizard dvd for you. they might have a free trial....

    Hallo aedipuss

thnx for the reply. the work arround with the card reader is indeed an option.
it is working but that is not really what i am looking for. I think, it should work with what you have bought in the shop.
So camera, software and the PC must be working.
The card reader does read the card. Then i use sdcopy to translate the *.MOD file because simply changing the extension
in MPG gives a differend view. 16:9 becomes 4:3.
Sdcopy leaves it in 16:9. But the editing is another thing.

    aedipuss (and others)

found the problem. It is hard to admit but it is Windows Vista what causes the problem.
The Canon video camera works perfectly under Windows XP SP3
Even without the software installed Win XP sees the camera instantly, and you can explore
the card in it without waiting times and hanging explorer.

After software installed, now you get prompted for using the standard software by Windows or wait on the popup
screen of ImageMixer 3 SE Ver.4

    so thanx for your support
and this subject can be closed
