Hello
Normally i have my sony hdtv connected to my pc (8600gs running on vista 32bit). It's connected with hdmi on tv side and hdmi/dvi adaptor on the pc side.
Up until a week ago it all worked fine. Then one night i heard a loud pop, but everything still worked. The next day my pc did not recognize my tv anymore and i still haven't found the solution. It just does not show up anymore in the nvidia control panel.
What could be the problem? I tested everything i could.
- the hdmi cable works fine on other devices.
- I tried a newr hdmi/dvi adaptor, but still no screen.
- i connected a dvi - dvi cable on a regular pc screen and it works fine. So the port that connects my pc to my tv should be fine i guess.
- The hdmi ports on my tv work, i tested them with other devices.
- a vga cable to the tv gives the pc screen on my tv, but offcourse in worse screen quality then a hdmi cable.
- I installed the newest nvidia drivers
It's driving me mad, who will save me.
Thanks in advance for any help
Edit: I just saw that sometimes when the tv is switched off my pc detects it, but the second i turn my tv on it doesn't detect the tv anymore. I can see that in my nvidia control panel...
