Hello, our post production facility is moving and I'm assigned the job of looking at cables and extenders. We have a Onyx and a Octane 2 that we need to connect to our monitors which will be about 20meters away from the rack.
I have looked into the following solutions and I would love some feedback
all the video outputs I am dealing with is a VGA 15 Pin type connector, at first I thought connecting the VGA to a Cat5 Video Extender however I have my doubts over the quality, even with the more expensive brands supplied by Kramer such as the TP121.
Now I'm considering going from VGA to a 5 BNC RGBHV Connector and just running a whole lot of BNC cable
the other option I have considered is going from VGA - DVI- HDMI via a C-FOHM Fibre cable then back to DVI - VGA. I'm assuming I will need some sort of Analogue to Digital signal converter to run from VGA to HDMI Correctly.
Has anybody here got any experience with extending video signal in a post production environment?
Mike
