So i was planning on buying parts to build my own computer. My components so far is:
    AMD Phenom II X4 945 Deneb 3.0GHz Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor
ASUS M4A78T-E AM3 AMD 790GX HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard
    G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666)
    Galaxy GeForce GTX 260+ OC Video Card - 896MB GDDR3, PCI Express 2.0 x16
    CoolMaster Storm Scout Case
    Windows 7 32bit
500w psu but dont know which to buy yet

Now, I there was this note on the G.Skill memory saying "Dual Channel Intel Core i5 & Core i7 CPU for P55 motherboard". So will this memory work on AMD CPU? The mobo im buying has a 240pin and ddr3 1333 standard which matches the gskill memory.

Also, this is my first time building a comp, if there is any notes or changes i should make on my components, please let me know

Shouldn't be any problem with the RAM. Intel/AMD RAM would be the same. If it's compatible with your MB, good enough. Dual channel helps with memory performance, but most newer MBs have this. You should pay attention to which RAM slots you use for dual channel. But your MB manual should tell you about that. I would DL the MB manual from the manufacturer even before you order the MB to familiarize yourself with it.

With a 125W CPU, you might want a aftermarket cooler, but you can try the stock cooler for present and upgrade later if needed.

I like Thermaltake, Seasonic PS's, but there are a lot of decent ones on the market at present. Figure about $50US or abouts for a good brand in the 500W range. You can often pick one up for less on sale. NewEgg is one place to monitor.

I still have an old guide available in PDF format for building a PC that may give you some ideas: https://forum.videohelp.com/topic315746.html#1619108
