I'm sure this has been posted to death but here it goes. What I hope to accomplish is 1) backing up our collection of DVDs to a storage drive 2) Play back the movies through our home theatre system from the drive.
1)What is the best method of backing up DVDs to storage drives, 2) which media player will work best for this task, I've been looking at products from Popcorn hour, western digital, and kodak.
Thanks

1. There is no best method as it depends on what you are going to play it on, if you want to include everything(audio tracks, subtitles, etc), shrinking, etc. But I would probably rip to an ISO and try find an media player that supports that.
2. A HTPC! But not as easy to setup but supports EVERYTHING.
