ok here goes i'm a newbie to computers(oct 2001)but i'm a movie nut and need to find out how to back up my dvd's and all this info i keep reading is confusing so i'm going to ask a few questions at a time. here goes 1) is there a way to copy a dvd from my dvd-rom to a dvd-rw directly without ripping it to my hard drive or can i use a standalone dvd rcorder. 2)if there is a way to copy directly to a dvd-rw will i get all the menu options.

you would be best ripping it, only takes between 15-25 mins and you get all the menues and everything.

it just removes the copy protection
