Ok, I am sort of new, but I don't know how to fix this problem. I have capped in avi_io and the sound sounds really cracky, Everything else looks nice, but the sound, anyone know how to fix this problem or have come accross it before?
Thanks if you could help me,
btw I have tried turning down the Line In vol, and other stuff, but nothing seems to work.

Make sure it's the line in volume for your "recording" settings and not your "playback" settings...

Pakelika,
AVI_IO has built in VU meters which can be enabled. These are in the Capture Settings drop-down box.
If you enable these and do a sample capture, do the meters fly into the red section? I'm assuming that the incoming audio signal is too high and is being clipped. Unfortunately audio signal levels from DVD & VHS sources vary a great deal.
If you look at the following forum post, I've replied with the proceedure I use to overcome this problem.
