Can anyone tell me why I cannot use BD-Rebuilder v0.31.02 to shrink my BD backups? When I try to backup using the new version, I get an error message that it cannot decode FFMS2.DLL. I know that the FFMS2 was removed, but is there a specific way to decode now without the FFMS2 FILE?

I may have found the solution to my own problem . I haven't tried it yet but I hope it can help others with the same problems..... Please post your results here for others to see.

Here is a C/P from Jdobbs:

Recommended: Download and install WMV11 from Microsoft, and set VC-1 decoding to "disabled" in FFDSHOW (allowing the WMV11 codec to be used). This seems to be the codec with the fewest problem on VC-1.
    9. Please DO NOT replace the versions of software included in the BD-RB ZIP with other versions (e.g. replacing the 32 bit X264 with a 64 bit version). In doing so you are very likely creating a self-inflicted injury that will not be addressed as a bug.

Here is the link to WMV11: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/11/default.aspx

    Thanks,

  3. Nice find.

I just checked a Blu-Ray review website and it says the video in "Bullitt" is VC-1, rather than H.264 or MPEG-2. The movie giving you so much trouble.

How about verifying that with MediaInfo (free).

[EDIT] AFAIK, most early Blu-Rays were MPEG-2, and most current releases are H.264 (AVC). I'm not sure if I have any in VC-1 or not, I'll have to check. I think most VC-1 Blu-Rays were ported from HD-DVD encodes. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
    Pull! Bang! Darn!

You gotta be KIDDING me !!!

So all this time I spent on this bullit movie, all I had to do was add the VC-1 codec to make it work? Thanks for checking that out for me. I guess that is another lesson learned on my behalf. I will surely look into that mediainfo too.

Maybe I'll give "BULLITT" a few bulitts of my own BULLITT

Update: I loaded WMV11 last night and I started Bullitt on BD-builder and to my surprise it started processing without any errors. I will keep you posted on final results.
