Hello,
My first post here, so im using the newbie forum.
I am a fan of the webseries "The Guild" (www.watchtheguild.com) which has been featuring videos on its website as well as extras such as music videos by the series creaters, gag strips, etc. Whenever I go to watch any current or older episode of the series, My free RealPlayer SP immediately gives me the prompt "Download this video". The series has always been advertised as free to the web community, with sales of dvds and apparel and paypal donations as thier means of allowing fans to contribute, so I dont believe my following request involves any infrigement.
It finally occoured to me to start using the download option thru RP to create a local archive of this media that I could view at any time locally, in case of a net outage, so I began going over thier site and downloading thier older series videos and extras.
Some time ago they featured a hilarious gag reel, which for some reason I cannot find on thier site any longer. Posts on thier forums regarding availability of this particular reel have gone unanswered. The only link I can find to this particular video takes me offsite to Bing.com where the video is displayed thru some player called silverlight. I believe the proper term for how its displayed would be "embedded"? AFAIK, there is no prohibbitive copyright or trademark on this media, but in my IE8 browser, I cannot seem to save the video to my local harddrive. Is it possible to do this with the VLC media player 1.0.3 or thru another browser like firefox?
Any help appreciated.
Thank you for reading,
Logan

Silverlight is often used to protect content from being downloaded. It's very effective. I've yet to hear of anyone who has been able to crack it.
A streaming media capture program might work, but you'll have to play the video and record it for use later. Something like Replay Media Catcher might work for this purpose. -
I'm in the same boat.. I've been downloading The Guild since day one(great show) and all of the sudden(since episode11 season 3) now MSN video has changed to Bing and not only can I not download anymore the streaming video is jerky and somewhat blurry... I hope someone comes up with a way to circumvent this shite..
