Well it seems like i've been using the same 3 programs for converting my .mkv and .ogm files for the past 5 years. Those being
AlltoAVI , Tmpgenc, and VirtualdubMOD.
So my question is has there been any new programs released in the past couple years that can convert those file types but better faster and more stable?

xvid4psp is very stable here(win xp and win7)....but I guess it doesn't work perfect on all systems.
You can also see https://www.videohelp.com/tools/sections/video-encoders?orderby=Updated , converters ordered by latest version. -
