using vista 64 bit
When using raid 5 with all three drives identical and one of the drives goes bad, how does one know which physical drive to replace?

The controller should have something to indicate that. It's going to be on the drive cage (if integrated), the controller itself, or in the software interface for the controller.

thanks for the reply rallynavvie
The controller screen does indicate which one is bad but how do you relate this to which drive in the bay? Substituting one drive at a time does not seem to be a good idea. -
What controller is it? The manual should state what the onboard LED indicators mean.
