Hello,

I've been trying to setup a home entertainment network for a couple of weeks now. I've finally settled on XBMC because of its simplistic use and setup (necessary for my family to use) , multi-platform capabilities, and I don't need PVR functionality. However, what I do need is the ability to stream my DVR's output though S-Video into a PC running WinXP Pro SP3 and serve it to other clients including other WinXP PCs, multiple Macs, and old XBOXs that have already been moded with XBMC.

What I need to accomplish: Stream video/audio from capture device to any client on the network. (Not interested in TV tuner control or TV Guides, just video from S-Video In)

What I've got:
3 WinXP PCs SP3 (One will have the capture device(s)
2 Mac computers running snow leopard
2 old XBoxs running XBMC

10/100 Ethernet Network
Wireless G Network

WinTV-PVR-500 (Dual Analog Tuner, although just plan on using S-Video Input)
Pinnacle Dazzle 90 USB2 Capture device

What I've tried:
VLC with no luck (Too many problems/bugs/undocumented configuration settings + will not recognize audio capture devices)
Windows Media Encoder (Doesn't seem to like my hardware)

I'm looking for an easy to setup server software that can be picked up by any media program or devcie, like by pointing it to a playlist or url or something.

So with all that said, any suggestion would be very welcomed. I'm not opposed to paying for something if its well supported and documented at this point. I just don't have enough time to be going through hours of research and trial and error for each program I try.

Thanks allot!
