  1. I have successfully converted over 20 avi to vcd movies using TMPGEnc and the most they usually take is 10-12 hours. My problem is, I loaded up this 200 meg avi thinking it would take 4-5 hours and it said it was going to take 345 hours. Just to see if it would pick up I let it go for 4 hours came back to my PC and only 5 seconds were converted. What happened? Please help. Thanks

  2. 200 meg. AVI >> 4-5 hours ????

I'm working with 17 gig. AVI and it takes only 1.5 hours by TMPEGenc to convert mpg.

    P-III / 800
    80 gig. / 256 Mb. / Win XP

Sorry my friend but your computer specs are very low I think.

  4. Could you tell me which settings & filters you're using in TMPEGenc ??
Your MPG conversion time is really huge, maybe because of filters. I don't use them.

    My settings:

    MPEG-1 Video / 352 X 288 (for PAL) / 4:3 625 Line PAL / 25 FPS / CBR 1.150 Kbits-sec. / VBR Buffer AUTO / Motion search NORMAL / NO FILTERS

  5. I just load the VideoCD(NTSC).mcf template. I don't use filters either. Could it be the settings in the VFAPI plug-in tab? I did mess around in their but, I thought I got it back to the way it was.

  6. Your template looks normal.

Under "GENERAL" tab; First 3 CLEAR, 4 th. ENABLE, 5-6 CLEAR, 7 th. ENABLE.

Under "CPU" tab; First 3 ENABLE, rest CLEAR.

Under "VFAPI" tab; All 6 ENABLED, values:0,0,0,0,-1,-2

If everything is normal I don't know what is the reason of this slowness

    Good luck friend.

I get real time conversion with my Intel PIII 1GHz. Your render times are terrible because your system is so limited. I used to have a Celeron 433 and built this unit a year ago because I couldn't take the huge amount of time necessary to convert my caps...

  8. Thanks a lot for your comments. My real concern though is why was I going from 10 hours (I can deal with it because I let it run overnight) to 345 HOURS?!? This seems like something else is wrong here. Could it have something to do with the AVI file?
