hey I just got power DVD 9 OEM with my BD-R drive.
I've been trying to play an AVCHD Disk on it, and the video plays but no audio comes out. It seems to be a power dvd error as I can load the m2ts stream into VLC and it plays fine.

    anyone experience this problem before?

What is the audio format of the disc ?
Does it do this on all AVCHD discs, or only some ?

Here is a comparison chart of the payware versions : http://www.cyberlink.com/products/powerdvd/compare-retail_en_US.html

Given OEM versions are often crippled in some way to encourage you to upgrade, I would not be surprised if you have issues with some higher end formats. For example, DTS support is an optional extra (i.e. you have to pay more for it) in all but the Ultra version.

Can you successfully play anything else with ac-3 sound?

And why using powerdvd for avchd?
Its so slow and changes streams so badly.
Best for avchd files is splash.
