    Hiii fellas,

Ive been searchin net for quite some time now but wasnt able to find reliable answer for my query.
Basically I got WDTV with me at the moment, and I basically play MKV files on it.

    My setup.

40" 1080p Tele (WDTV connected with this tele using HDMI cable)
    WDTV Media Player
Sound receiver capable of processing DTS5.1 ch Surround Sound (WDTV is connected with this receiver using Toslink audio cable)

I want to buy PS3 but one thing Im not sure of is whether if I remux MKV containing DTS5.1ch audio to ts/m2ts containing DTS5.1ch audio using tsmuxer... will it play on PS3 when connected using Toslink Audio cable with my receiver.

No one is able to reply me properly ... all I want is my PS3 to play ts/m2ts/vob file containing DTS5.1 audio. Pls reply if PS3 can do so. (I dont wanna convert DTS5.1 to AC3 cuz it ruins the sound quality).

    Thanks

If you use MKV2VOB and create a VOB with DTS audio it will play. if you create an MT2S file with DTS audio (at least HD DTS, haven't tried standard DTS) it won't. If you author an AVCHD with DTS (HD or otherwise) it will play.

So short answer, if you MKV files with DTS audio, use MKV2VOB to create a playable VOB file.

    Thanks for reply bro ...

Just wanna add one more thing, I should be able to play of HDD of PS3, I dont wanna burn DVD everytime I mux to VOB.

So just to make sure if I understood is right ... MKV2VOB will mux the file containing h264+dts5.1 to VOB container having video + DTS5.1ch sound (not AC3 or PCM) and this VOB file will easily playable of my PS3 HDD.

    Pls confirm.

    Thanks

The VOBs created are not DVD VOBs, but will contain the original H264 video and DTS audio in a VOB container. I don't know how it does it, but somehow it works. You can play them from the HDD of the PS3, or from an external HDD or USB key. Note that for external drives the file size must be under 4 GB (FAT32 limitation)
