Does anyone know of a tool that will convert an entire dvd to an .avi file? I am trying to shrink my dvd'd down to save room on my hard drive. I want to keep all the features of the DVD (menus, extras, chapters, etc.). Thanks for the help..

Do you want a single AVI file with everything in it ? Or a set of AVI files, one for each video on the disc ?

Linux _is_ user-friendly. It is not ignorant-friendly and idiot-friendly.

PGC.net might rip everything to a single VOB. Try it and see.
    Then encode that.

You can try disturbed1's suggestion, but nobody can guarantee you that you can truly do what you propose. You'll just have to try it and see.

I'll give it a try. My basic need is I have about 700 DVD's laying around and want to put them on a portable hard drive. I wanted to keep the integrity of the dvd's contents in one file less than 1 gb in size.
