  1. Hi,
I have an AVI file coded in WMV1. I neither can it open with the windows media player nor with virtual dub to code it in DivX.
So what's this for a mysterious codec and where can I get it?

Note: Windows Media Player was able to download the needed codec but it doesn't work. And when I open the file in Virtual Dub this error appears:

"Couldn't locate decompressor for format WMV1 (unkown)

Virtual Dubrequires a Video for Windows (VFW) compatible codec to decompress video. DirectShow codecs, such as those used by Windows Media Player, are not suitable."

So, can anybody help me? Thx for your help!
