I keep getting write errors in Nero - help :(

Its very strange - the write process slows considerably around 5 percent and by ten i have been told there is an error. It doesn't seem to matter what i burn - the same thing occurs. I'm thinking maybe there is something wrong with my burner?

That's saying that your burner is having a problem with your media. Most likely it's the brand of media. Try a different brand. Or it could be your burner doesn't have the proper firmware for your media. You could try a firmware upgrade, but different media is usually easier. If that's not it, then it's possible there's a problem with the burner itself, but not as likely.

If you are normally burning a bunch of MP3's to disc, maybe try a different burner program. I don't trust Nero much anymore. Try ImgBurn or a burner program that may be better for audio type files.

EDIT: The OP is using 'CDR code: 00 97 17 06; OSJ entry from: Moser Baer India Limited', common from that region. And he has a 'MATSHITA DVD-RAM UJ-851S' burner. (Panasonic?)

BTW, It would be better if you deleted the partial Nero serial numbers from the begginng of your post entirely. They have no bearing on your problem.

Absolutely your dvdwriter is incapable of using the blank dvds you are using, that's why you have the same problems with different burning programs.

TDK media sold in the USA and Canada is very low quality. TDK media sold in places other than North America, such as the discs hech54 uses, is made by different manufacturers and may be quite good. Taiyo Yuden at one time made TDK's Japanese media although I don't know if they still do or not.
