Is there some reason in favor of using v. 4.5 ? I thought it was supposed to be much less capable than ver. 3.x.

Have you at this point given up on Mediabox, GetFLV, Replay, or any other of the non-commandline tools ?

  6. Hi Guys, Sorry if I have posted in the wrong thread. I am having problems downloading the following show

    http://www.rte.ie/player/ie/show/10186127/

I have used wireshark to capture the packets and I believe the following is the information I require to create the rtmpdump command

    http://www.rte.ie/static/player/swf/osmf2_2013_06_25b.swf

    http://vod.hds.rasset.ie/hds-vod/2013/0801/adaptive/20130801_rtetwo-thegalwayr_cl10186...__512k.mp4.f4m

I then came up with the following, the downloading starts but fails after less than 1%

    root@user1:/home/user1# rtmpdump -r "rtmpe://fmsod.rte.ie/rtevod/mp4:/2013/0801/20130801_rtetwo-thegalwayr_cl10186127_10186156_260_drm_/20130801_rtetwo-thegalwayr_cl10186127_10186156_260_drm__512k.mp4" -a "rtevod" - W "http://www.rte.ie/static/player/swf/osmf2_2013_06_25b.swf" -o "Record.flv"

I have looked at the wireshark packets and it seems that there are Segments and Fragments and this is just after a few seconds. The show is over 2 hours long

It actually works with those videos (no encryption), just tried it on a similar one from ieplayer. It selects 1024 (640x360) version instead of 512 (512x288) for download. The only problem was that my URLSnooper (maybe a bit old) didn't get the manifest (.f4m file) location, so I had to use HiDownload's internal sniffer to find it.

Thanks, I've heard of it but 've been too lazy to update my firefox from v.14 - something wrong with auto update. But I'll have to do it anyway since some other plugins are also only being updated for FF v.20 while newer youtube tricks keep appearing, especially on VEVO's. This needs regular plugin updating.

  12. I'm having difficult to download some VEVO videoclips from Youtube, using DownloadHelper or IDM. Streams uses to come as "dash" codec and no player can run it. I found out that I can grab those videos directly from VEVO page (www.vevo.com) without that "dash" thingie, using IDM and GomPlayer and VLCPlayer can run them.

Now, I'm trying to get this video, but IDM nor DownloadHelper can't get it. I saw that Firefox 22 cannot get it, but Chrome 25 can. However, the damn "dash" codec comes together...

This one has no site, like VEVO, to grab directly from.

So, is there an easy way to get rid of "dash" codec from VEVO and others videoclip's owners?

  20. But the question remains:

-> What to do with "dash" codec?

    Example:

I had a similar problem recently. Firefox plugin stopped working for some VEVO youtube locations and I tried to use some of those commercial stream downloaders. One of them downloaded a file with "dash" (not sure it's a codec at all) and with no audio. Then I simply updated my plugin (I use the one called 'Download Youtube Videos as mp4') and it easily started again downloading the usual AVC/AAC from problematic youtube places.

  23. Hello guys!
I'm trying to figure out how to download a video from the livestream for a LIVE event that will be on tomorrow night.

    The link is this one:
    http://new.livestream.com/accounts/4611223/events/2310445
now it's not live but until a while ago it was, with another concert, and I tried to record something with DownloadHelper on firefox, the download stopped after a few seconds leaving me with a flv of max 2MBs.

So I downloaded tubedigger 4.4.7 and I tried to use it on some other videos on the livestream website but TD crashes as soon as I try to open the livestream site, I'm using a laptop with Win7 (but I have a mac I can use also)

do you have any idea how I can do that? since it's a live streaming I saw that a "DVR" functionality is available so that everything is online for all the time of the event but as soon as it finishes everything is shut down so I should download everything before this happens

Anyone can help me on this?
    Thanks a lot!

  25. Hi All,

I'm having an issue and I was wondering if others have had the same. I use RTMPDUMP/RTMPSUCK/RMPTSRV along with RTMPDumpHelper and RTMPExplore. In the past i've been able to load RTMPDumpHelper, navigate to A&E's website and download the First 48 episodes. Now when I try to run RTMPDumpHelper with IE it says "Out of Memory". If I run IE by itself, no error message. FireFox and Chrome do not give me any error but nothing is captured. If i run RTMPExplore, same issue. If i run RTMPDUMP, nothing is captured. I've tried the AdobeHDS script and it stops saying that the stream is encrypted.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks In Advance.

If AdobeHDS Downloader says it's encrypted, most likely that means it recognizes the only stream type it works with (segmented http by Adobe). Currently, AFAIK there's no tool to deal with its encrypted version (like NBC videos). That also means RTMPDumpHelper-like tools will not work with it - since it's http-stream, no rtmp type. So probably that site uses different stream type now.
