I notice when I am creating folders within folder for picture files (each folder is a different event), each folder has different VIEW types. Sometimes it is "thumbnails", sometimes it is "tiles" (other is "icons" and "list"). It is as if Windows does it randomly. Anyone know how it sets up VIEW style?

I don't have XP running at the moment but in Explorer Folder Properties there is a setting that says something like "Make all folders like current folder". It takes effect after restarting Windows.

I fired up an XP computer.
Set the view the way you want.
Then under Tools, Folder Options, View, Folder Views
select "Apply to all folders"
Then restart Windows XP.Recommends: Kiva.org - Loans that change lives.

edDV, so when I click this, it will just apply whatever VIEW I currently have (thumbnails) to all the folders?
Do you know how Windows decides without doing this? It seems random. -

Besides, even when you apply your chosen setting to "All Folders",
if you decide to view the folder XYZ as "icons" for example,
then the OS will keep displaying XYZ in the "icons" mode,
overriding the related global setting. -
