I can't hear audio when playing the following MKV on WDTV media player:

    Video: MPEG4 Video (H264) 1280x720 23.98fps [English (Video 1)]
    Audio: DTS 48000Hz 6ch [English (Audio 1)]
    Subtitle: UTF-8 [English (Subtitle 1)]

The WDTV is using composite (RCA) outputs.

    Is this normal?

  2. The WDTV doesn't have the ability to down mix DTS to stereo (RCA outputs). If you plug the digital audio port into a receiver with DTS decoding you'll get audio. The new WDTV Live (aka WDTV2) has DTS down mixing to stereo.

  3. You could use PopCorn MKV AudioConverter, which simply converts the audio in an MKV file from DTS to AC3.

It's simple enough to use, but you have to download a few small programs which it needs before you can use it.
