I have a bunch of FLV files that I want to convert to DVD. I find that I can open some of them in TMPGEnc 4.0 Express, but when I try to import others, I get a message: "Cannot open the file ..........flv" These are mostly files that I've downloaded from YouTube, as it happens.
Any ideas?
I do find that I can open these files in Any Video Converter, but when I convert them to MPGs using this software, my TMPG DVD Author 3 warns me that the "total bitrate is too high for a DVD video. The clip current total bitrate is #### kb/s. However, in a DVD-Video the clip total bitrate should be lower than 9848 Kb/s."

I guess it's flv with h264 video and it causes problems in several converters. Use mediainfo to see what the flv contain.
Have you tried lower the video bitrate in anyvideoconverter? Or do you always get that error in tmpgenc dvd author?
Or convert to some lossless avi format and let tmpgenc convert to avi. Try any video converter, format factory, winff. -
You're right, it seems to be H264. I tried two clips I'm having trouble with, and MediaInfo identified them as AVC (Container Profile Unknown). Any Video Converter identifies them as H264.
I'll try both of your suggestions, with Any Video Converter. I think you mean, "let tmpgenc convert to mpg," right?
Many thanks! -
