I've been playing my downloaded mkv movies through my computer onto my LCD for a while now without any problems. I use a Creative 24-bit Live USB Sounblaster connected via a tos link to my LG Home Theatre System and it plays lovely in dts sound.
The problem I have is that lately, the sound keeps going in and out of sync, not by much but by enough to bug you. I've converted the dts to a 5.1 soundtrack and merged with mkvmerge and, using MPCHC, I play the movie changing the audio track to the 5.1 and it works a treat. I would rather be able to play the dts for obvious reasons so if anyone has any advice it would be much appreciated.

P.S. It does the same in all media players, not just MPCHC so it's not the programs. I use AC3filter, ffdshow and AVIsynth.

Same sync problem in VLC Media Player and SMplayer? They have builtin decoders.

Just an update, I still haven't sorted the problem, i've uninstalled AC3Filter and reinstalled an earlier version with the same problem.
This might help solve it hopefully, i've encoded one of the films using ConvertXToDVD and even doing that, it still goes in and out of sync using a Sony Blu-Ray player. When I change the audio to normal 5.1 on the DVD it works fine.
I hope someone can help 'cos there is quite a big difference between 5.1 and dts especially on the new films.

I've found the problem, it may not interest anyone but you never know, someone may stumble across the same problem I had.

A while back, I decided to try the Windows 7 RC. Once installed, I looked for an update for my Creative Soundblaster, I found an update and that's been the problem all along, simple really and I feel like a right AND left tit but at least it's sorted

As an American I have no idea what that expression means, but I'm glad you solved your problem. Thanks for providing an update as your solution may be useful to others in the future with the same problem.
