Hello!
We have an HVR1600 and need a recommendation on some simple software to encode MPEGs. We want to use the card to create DVD backups of important government meetings, but not directly to DVD, to MPEG first. I can handle the DVD part later.
Ideally, this software would be:
1. Able to record via MPEG hardware encoder on the HVR 1600 in DVD-quality
2. Able to automatically break the recordings into 4.7GB files on a specific drive
3. Able to run continuously until stopped
4. Simple to use, as in, a large green "Start" button and a large red 'Stop' one
5. Free or cheap
Can anyone recommend any software that might work? I've looked at the WinTV application, and the only thing it doesn't do is split files. It's also a little cumbersome.
Great forums too, lots of helpful information!
