Anyone knows of any really good video player that consume very little memory and still performs?

I only know of 1337 player plays its video at lightning speed (no kidding).

    it plays only mkv?

    doesnt play mov/m2ts etc.

Why do you need a player that consumes little memory? 30MB or 200MB whats the difference?

I use splash for hd playback and mpc-hc for other videos.

It plays everything as long as you have the right codec installed. I like players that are not memory hogs and loads and close lightning fast. So my system is always perform faster after long usage, fetching.

I find MPC-HC very slow at loading and skipping video. no offence. its just not as optimised

I find mpc-hc little slow for mts files and unstable for avchd.
But Splash is very fast for application starting, playback starting and seeking... but uses up to 400MB ram on my PC.
It doesnt make my windows slower anyway.

edit: i let use 1337 ffdshow and it plays mov files. avchd not working, but seeking performance is not so good anyway.

Try a different output device. View -> Options -> Playback -> Output.

You can still use different output devices.

Can't wait half a second for a video to start playing?

DXVA with mpc-hc works only with evr on my pc.

I could wait half a sec once or twice, but i usually watch tons of AVCHD clips.
Anyway mpc-hc crashes on avchd seeking.

Thanks for your help/suggestions but Im not going to digg it more, as i have free splash that works out of the box.
I lost enough time to play with codecs/players in the past.
